...but it looks much like your days of me subscribing to you are numbered.

Finally went to extreme measures over weekend in a last-ditch bid to get it working and reformatted the whole machine. Trust me - for someone who more then once has been on the end of a admiringly horrified "I didn't think it was possible to break it like that" from more then one computer teccy (the registry always tempts me back...), a full format is a risky thing.

Did it and the computer is lovely and smooth. The game still doesn't work though and, with tech support seemingly incapable of replying, looks like thats my RPGing up for the forseeable.

*sigh*.

Name That Toon!

Simple premise, folks - the music playing on the front page (in Media Player) is made up of ten different classic kids programmes...mostly cartoons. Your mission is to name all 10 by 8pm on Sunday 1 October. Post your answer as a reply to this post.

First to get all 10 (or the most by the closing time) wins a custom-compiled CD of the genre/type/decade of their choice from my piffling music collection. Be aware that i'm gonna need a postal address that i can get after the close of the quiz.

Only one entry per person, folks.

That's right - Guess the Intro is Dead. Long Live the Caption!!

Quite simple - every fortnight a new picture goes up. Leave the caption for it that you think will entertain me and the rest of T2D the most in the form of a reply and whoever wins gets a custom compilation CD from my ridiculously big CD collection...exclusive items, folks! Make 'em scary, snappy, satirical, slutty - whatever you like.

Unlimited entries are allowed so knock yourselves out. The closing date for THIS picture is Sunday 10 September, 10pm.

It's a WORLD CUP themed GTI this week folks!! What better prize to have then some of the best footie-related tunes ever to drunkenly singalong to after we smack the Argies in the final (knocking out the germans on the way, of course).

Same format as ever - 10 songs, gimme as many of the artists and song titles as you can (point for each) in the form of a reply post to this one. Anyone can enter (no more then once though...2-part posts will be discarded) long as you're willing to supply me with your postal address if you win. BE AWARE - I want them exact guys and in order.

Quiz closes at 6pm Sunday night (11/06) with answers and winner declared within 24 hrs after...person with most points out of 20 wins the CD. In event of tie the first postee gets it, in the event of anyone posting a perfect 20 then the quiz for that week finishes sraight away.

Remember - post too early and you may give answers away - post too late and someone else may pip you...my guess is that anyone who thinks they have 11-12 min this week may well have a chance, BUT as 2/20 has won in the past then you never can tell!

GUESS THE INTRO!

How It Works

It's simple, folks. Below is a link to a short mp3 file (no more then 1 min or so), which is comprised of a number of intros to well-known tunes.

Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to name as many of them as you can (point for artist, point for song) - when you have, post your answer as a reply to this post before midnight on the closing date (12/03). The person who gets the most correct wins the prize. In the event of a tie, the person who posted FIRST wins. And no post editing - any edited posts will be immediately deemed ineligible.

Of course, the perceptive amongst you will see the catch. Posting early means you win in the event of a tie....but it also means that you may be helping out others with a chance of getting more correct then you. If you leave it then you won't give anything away...but someone may come in with a big score before you that you can't better. The choice is yours.

The Prize

Every week, the winner will get a CD compiled exclusively from T2D's mammoth record collection, made up of tracks from the genre of that week's mp3 challenge. Former winners will tell you that these tend to be fairly special, with some rare stuff, live stuff and hard-to-find tracks included. Be aware though, this means that T2D will need the address of the winner in order to send it to you - anyone with stalker-paranoia may as well not bother!

This Week - The Cover Bonus

Bonus points available! Each track in the file is a cover version. If you can give me the name of the band/artist who ORIGINALLY recorded each song, as well as the song title and artist of the version in the file, you'll get a point for that too. So 30pts up for grabs!

The Prize

Hmmm - how about a CD full of the best vocal performances by female singers that I can assemble from my mp3 collection? Oh yes. As ever, expect some rare hard-to-find stuff to be included.

The Format

Same as before - it's a 'bits & pieces' music round. I have an mp3 file with between 8 and 12 musical intros contained within. Email me at suitcase.murphy@virgin.net and I'll send you the file.

How To Enter

Your mission? Leave a reply to this post with your answers. You'll get points for the artists and the song title. The winner is the one with the most points in their entry at the close of the quiz and will be announced on Sunday morning. Remember - leave a post early and other people may be able to get some ideas from you. BUT post it too late, and someone else may beat you to it. Ok - the last competition didn't work at all. Consider that type scrapped.

This one is MUCH better!

The prize? A CD full of chilled-out, relaxing tunes to drift away to - some of which may not be commercially available. Nice.

The Mission

I've made an mp3 file containing various intros to popular tunes. The file contains between 8 to 12 intros....your mission is to name all the intros (name of group and name of song) within the mp3 file.

Entry Details

- To request a copy of the file you must email me at: suitcase.murphy@virgin.net. I'll then send you the file by return email.

- Leave your answers as a reply to this board message (an email won't be accepted). Remember, it's up to you to decide how long you want to wait - do it too soon w/o getting them all and others may be able to use your answers...do it too late and someone else may have beaten you to it (in the event of a tie, the first entry posted gets preference).
